Hundreds of residents from Borabu constituency in Nyamira county took to the streets to protest the escalating illicit brew menace, which they say is slowly eroding the future of the youth in the area.
The demonstration, spearheaded by the catholic church, SDA church, non-governmental organisations and national government administrators, saw residents march through major trading centres, holding banners and placards with strong messages against drug peddling. Nyansiongo, Kijauri and Nyaronde were singled out as some of the most affected areas, with residents urging security agencies to intensify crackdowns on illicit brew dens and drug networks.
