The Kirinyaga County security committee, led by Kirinyaga County Commissioner Hussein Allasow, has warned residents in flood-prone areas to move to safer ground following the Kenya Meteorological Department's advisory warning of intense downpours expected to hit parts of the country, with potential flash floods, lightning strikes, strong winds, and property damage. Speaking after the security meeting, the commissioner called on residents, especially those in the Mwea Rice irrigation scheme and parts of Ndia constituencies, to be vigilant in protecting their lives and property.
