Ruto announces Sh23bn capitation boost, plans to hire 20,000 teachers

President William Ruto says the government has already set aside capitation funds for next term, in a bid to ensure a smooth transition into the second school term. Speaking at statehouse Nairobi during the Kenya National Drama Festival State Concert, president Ruto revealed that the government will transmit 23billion to schools for capitation, adding that the ministry of education will hire 20,000 more teachers before the school year is out.
