The group which demonstrated from Kimathi Street to Simba Street, City Hall Way and converged at Kenya National Archives were arrested by anti-riot police officers who were deployed around the city. Tension remains high following the arrest with business operators closing their stalls fearing looting, as protestors engaged police in running battles in the area. Nairobi regional commander Issa Mahmoud says they have deployed enough officers to ensure the city remains safe.
