The Social Health Authority has announced the commencement of the SHA overseas treatment benefits package from Tuesday, April 14th. Speaking to Citizen TV, SHA CEO Dr. Mercy Mwangangi said that the authority had published a list of 36 conditions whose specialised treatment is not available locally and will be referred for overseas treatment. The CEO said the government is in the process of clearing 200 million shillings owed to overseas providers under the defunct National Hospital Insurance Fund system.
