Special Needs Education (SNE) teachers in Laikipia County have threatened to down their tools over alleged discrimination and delays by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) in implementing the Career Progression Guidelines.
The teachers, who spoke in Nanyuki Town, claim that TSC has failed to implement recommendations adopted by Parliament in February 2026, as well as concerns raised during a meeting at State House last year. Their grievances include alleged grading discrepancies, unpaid salary arrears dating back to 2018, and failure to convert and appropriately grade SNE teachers in line with approved Career Progression Guidelines.
