Suspect dies in police custody at Kawangware, family alleges foul play

The family of a man who died in custody at the Kawangware police cells following his arrest is demanding answers from the force. Jack Leon Matoke, a 23-year-old boda boda rider, was arrested on Thursday at 7 p.m. he was later found dead at the city mortuary just four hours after his detention. Police claim the young man took his own life by using his t-shirt while in custody. The family disputes this narrative, pointing to inconsistencies, most notably that his body was discovered still dressed in full motorcycle riding gear, contradicting the official version of events.
