Tonight, we begin with dramatic events in the country's energy public sector. Top energy officials have been arrested after what sources are describing as an unprocedural importation of fuel by the suspects. EPRA Director General Daniel Kiptoo, Kenya Pipeline Company Managing Director Joe Sang, Petroleum Principal Secretary Mohamed Liban, and Deputy Director Petroleum Joseph Wafula were arrested in an early morning raid at their homes by DCI detectives. Millions of shillings in cash were reportedly recovered from the homes of the energy officials. Citizen TV has established that a ship destined for Angola was re-routed to Mombasa and fuel offloaded in a suspect arrangement that goes against the existing government-to-government importation framework. According to Gatete Njoroge, two vessels had been scheduled to deliver fuel in Mombasa in what is being described as an irregular arrangement by energy officials.
