Gov’t Assures Smooth Transition in Higher Education
Narok, Kenya – Education Cabinet Secretary Migosi Ogamba has assured parents and students that the transition to higher learning institutions is fully catered for, with resources already provided.
“Do not worry about the transition, we’ve taken care of it,” said Ogamba during a stopover at Maasai Mara Technical and Vocational Training College in Narok.
He revealed that university fees had been reduced by between 15 and 40 percent, with individual student assessments used to determine household contributions. “The principle is that no student eligible to study in a university should miss out because of a lack of resources. The government is committed to paying its portion while households pay according to their capacity,” he explained.
