Transport sector operators have called off their strike following a meeting with President William Ruto at State House Mombasa. The President announced that diesel prices will be reduced by Sh10 in the next pricing cycle, as part of government efforts to ease fuel costs, adding that further reductions are also being planned through targeted interventions. He further revealed that the government spent Sh28.19 billion between April and June to cushion consumers, including Sh12.54 billion in April–May and Sh15.7 billion in May–June.
