Residents of Tuthu in Kangema Constituency have vowed to block the removal of road construction equipment until the 13-kilometre Tuthu–Kanyenyaini road is fully tarmacked. The residents say the poor state of the road has for years disrupted transport, businesses and the movement of agricultural produce. Their concerns intensified after a contractor moved to the site, raising hopes that the long-awaited road rehabilitation would begin, only for the works to stall.
