TWO ARTISANAL GOLD MINERS KILLED AFTER MINE COLLAPSES IN SIAYA COUNTY

Two artisanal gold miners have died after a mine collapsed in Nyandiwa village, Bar Kalare, East Gem Ward in Gem Constituency, Siaya County. According to eyewitness Edwin Mboya, the two victims were working underground while he remained on the surface when he heard a loud sound and immediately raised the alarm. Fellow miners rushed to the scene in an attempt to rescue them but found the pair buried beneath soil and boulders.
