Uhuru to step down as Jubilee Party leader

Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta has announced that he will step down as the leader of the Jubilee Party, following Monday’s High Court ruling upholding the law that bars retired presidents from holding political party office within six months of leaving office. Through his communications secretary, Kanze Dena, the former Head of State said he remained at the helm of Jubilee years into his retirement because of a prolonged internal leadership dispute that required legal intervention.
