US sanctions Tanzanian police official over rights violations claims

The United States Government has acted against the Tanzanian government in response to the reported abduction of Kenya's Human Rights Activist Boniface Mwangi and his Ugandan counterpart Agather Atuhaire. The US Department of State, in a notice published on Thursday, prohibiting Senior Assistant Police Commissioner Faustine Jackson Mafwele from entering its territory on the grounds of gross human rights violations.
