Museveni leads Uganda presidential race with 76.2 percent in preliminary results

NRM presidential candidate and incumbent Ugandan President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is leading in the preliminary presidential election results with 76.2 percent of the vote. The figures were announced by Uganda’s electoral commission chairperson, Simon Mugenyi Byabakama. His main challenger, Bobi Wine, is trailing in second place with 19.8 percent, translating to approximately 1.3 million votes. So far, results from 22,758 polling stations across the country have been tallied
