A group of scholars and business leaders in Kiambu County want it to be split into two, owing to its massive population. The new proposed Thika County, they say, should comprise Juja, Gatundu North, Gatundu South, Ruiru and Thika constituencies. This has triggered renewed political debate over governance, service delivery and resource distribution in one of Kenya’s most populous regions.
