A section of human rights defenders have faulted the ruling of the court of appeal on criminalisation of abortion, saying it has brought confusion and fear among girls, women and health care service providers. They insist that it may restrict some health workers from rendering the services during a rape case, defilement or when a woman’s life is at risk. They have urged the court to amend its ruling and maintain the culture in the constitution that abortion care should be accessible to women during life-threatening circumstances.
