KOSKEI CHAMPIONS PPP MODEL AS AN EFFECTIVE DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY
Head of Public Service Felix Koskei on Friday affirmed the government’s commitment to the Public Private Partnership (PPP) in accelerating development in the country.
He said that when the Kenya Kwanza administration came to power, it realized that the fiscal space was too tight to support accelerated development, and that is why to opted for the internationally accepted Public Private Partnerships.
Speaking during a site tour of the project domiciled in Kilifi and Tana River Counties, Mr. Koskei lauded the progress, noting that critical infrastructure has been rolled out to support agricultural productivity through PPP.
“When this administration came to power, we realized that the fiscal space was so tight. The tax base was narrow. It was impossible to collect taxes and invest the same for huge, serious projects like this one,” he said.
