Governors slam Govt over unilateral SHA decisions

The Council of Governors has accused the Ministry of Health of making unilateral decisions on the management of healthcare under the Social Health Authority. The council chairman, Ahmed Abdullah, slammed Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Dualeor, allegedly micromanaging a function that is fully devolved. Governors are also criticizing the social health authority over delayed claims payments, pushing public hospitals into a 32-billion-shilling debt and crippling services in the counties.
