In 2009, long before she became first lady, Rachel Ruto founded Joyful Women organization, a non-profit Organization to empower women excluded from the financial sector.. Joyful Women has been facilitating economic empowerment through the table banking model, where women form groups, save money, borrow, and repay. She sat down with Nimord Tabu to reflect on the empowerment journey 16 years later.
