Government confirms Raila Odinga International Stadium on track for AFCON 2027

The government has announced that construction of the 60,000-seater Raila Odinga International Stadium is progressing steadily and remains on schedule ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). In a statement shared on Saturday, December 27, 2025, Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo said the project, formerly known as Talanta Stadium, has recorded major milestones, reaffirming Kenya’s readiness to deliver a world-class sports facility.
