Residents protest police inaction after young man shot dead in Isiolo

Residents of Kambi ya Juu and Kulamawe villages in Bulapesa Ward, Isiolo County, held protests and barricaded the road linking the two villages to Isiolo town following the shooting death of 23-year-old Isaac Mutethia outside a popular local joint in Kambi ya Juu shopping center. The demonstrators, led by Nicholas Kaiyera, chairman of the Kambi ya Juu Boda Boda Riders Association, accused police officers at both Kambi ya Juu and Kulamawe Police Posts of extreme laxity, citing multiple recent break-ins and thefts in the area.
