Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen, together with PS Dr Belio Kipsang, met heads of directorates in the State Department for Immigration and Citizen Services to review gains and plan further reforms. The government has abolished fees for first-time ID applicants, removed extra vetting in border counties, fast-tracked ID and passport issuance, and waived charges on birth certificate authentication and duplicate IDs, with more reforms lined up to improve service delivery.
