It has now emerged that the residents of Uasin Gishu County are losing over 1 million shillings a day translating to about 373 million shillings a year over irregular water revenue. This was established during an audit query before the county public investment committee of the senate where the auditor general revealed that the Eldoret water and Sanitation Company limited made a loss of 5.9 million or 38% of water produced for the period ended June 2025. As Abdiaziz Hashim now reports the Jonathan Bii led county was at pains to explain a 60 million shilling debt which the executive attempted to write off. Senators are however alluding to possible misappropriation of the funds with the matter now forwarded to the EACC.
