National assembly parliamentary committee on labour chaired by Runyenjes MP Erick Muchangi has taken issue with multi-national tea companies -James Finlay and Ekaterra - for condoning sexual exploitation of female workers. The MPs toured the tea estates in Kericho and Bomet where they held meetings with management of the companies, employees, shop stewards, and trade unions, over the crisis that has taken an international dimension with managers and supervisors being pin-pointed as perpetrators. The companies were at pains to explain why in the estates, they did not have women supervisors and managers in what was said to have fuelled the exploitation
