Northern Kenya residents face food shortages due to floods

Twelve people have died, while over five thousand families have been displaced as a result of the heavy rains and floods that continue to pound parts of the country. Residents in parts of northern Kenya face food shortage in the wake of the floods that have devastated 17 counties across the country. The rains and the floods have cut off roads, making it impossible to get food to the affected people. It is estimated that close to five hundred houses were destroyed by the floods.
