Farmers in Kirinyaga County have been urged to embrace modern farming technologies such as drone spraying services, which are more efficient and protect them from exposure to harmful chemicals.
Speaking during the launch of spraying drones at Agitech Farm in Mutithi, Mwea, Mazao Afya Director Peter Karanja said adopting agri-business and modern technology will play a key role in ensuring farmers maximize benefits from their farming activities.
Karanja noted that many farmers have been relying on leaking pumps and manual sprayers, which expose them to hazardous chemicals due to a lack of protective gear. He explained that drones provide a safer, faster, and more efficient alternative, with one drone able to spray an acre of land within 15 minutes—saving both time and labor costs.
