4,779 Civil society groups were de-registered over the last one year for misconduct. Public Benefit Organisations Sector Report for the year 2024/25 shows that the organisations were de-listed for violating the PBO ACT and code of conduct. During the year under review, six organisations were also dissolved or wound up. Speaking during the launch of the report at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre, First Lady Rachel Ruto said the new regulatory environment will restore integrity in the sector.
