The hearing of the 11 million shillings graft against the former Nzoia Sugar Company managing director and seven others has been adjourned. Bungoma anti-corruption court adjourned after one of the accused, the company secretary Benson Khwatenge Wafula, failed to appear in court due to alleged medical reasons. The hearing, which was scheduled to conclude today, was to feature testimonies from EACC detective Abraham Kemboi and former Nzoia managing director Saul Wasilwa, who were the final two witnesses. The multi-million-shilling corruption case dates back to 2018 when senior managers of the state-owned sugar company allegedly conspired to swindle 11 million shillings.
