The fate of over 800 universal health coverage staff members hangs in the balance after the Council of Governors rejected the planned absorption and transition of the staff to counties. The governors say it is premature to transfer staff before the conclusion of the headcount report. According to the Ministry of Health, the transfer of UHC staff is set to take effect from September 2025.
