Dubai-based carrier flydubai has launched a new four-times-weekly service between Dubai and Nairobi, a move Kenyan officials say will strengthen tourism and trade ties between the two countries. The airline’s inaugural flight touched down at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport on Wednesday carrying 80 passengers, becoming the fifth new international carrier to begin operations in Kenya this year. The new route adds to flydubai’s existing daily service to Mombasa, underscoring the Gulf carrier’s growing interest in East Africa.
