Global backlash as Israel recognizes Somaliland

Israel's recognition of Somaliland as an independent and sovereign state on Boxing Day has continued to rattle the international community. At an emergency joint session of Parliament on Sunday, Somalia's president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud referred to Israel as an enemy. Meanwhile, the UN Security Council is scheduled to hold an emergency sitting over the same on Monday. The Arab League of Nations has done so on Sunday.
