Grade 10 mop-up begins as hundreds of learners are stranded over unpaid fees

    Chiefs from various parts of the country have began a mop-up exercise to get grade ten learners to join senior schools before the expiry of the extended admission deadline. The drive aims to enroll hundreds of thousands of students in line with the government’s 100 percent transition policy. As Brenda Wanga reports, the exercise is facing challenges, with parents saying they cannot meet the high costs of education without support, even as the government maintains that day secondary education remains its responsibility.
