IEBC cites legal, financial hurdles ahead of 2027 polls

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), says Legal and Financial Constraints, including the pending determination on the credibility of the 2019 Census Report by the Courts, could undermine it's readiness for the 2027 Polls. IEBC Chairman Erastus Ethekon, while addressing the Press at the Commission's headquarters in Nairobi, announced plans to review constituency and ward boundaries using a Phased Approach, citing legal, constitutional, and operational constraints that have delayed the exercise beyond the constitutional stipulated timelines.
