Kenya, U.S. sign $1.6B health cooperation framework

    President William Ruto today witnessed the signing of a 1.6 billion shillings investment in Kenya, covering the next five years. The funding will support the government of Kenya's systems, including SHA, DHA, KEMSA, IFMIS, MOH, and NPHI, through g2g modalities. The agreement also includes a joint multi-year transition and co-financing plan for laboratory systems, surveillance, workforce, and commodities. Under the plan, 515 laboratory workers and over 13,000 health workers will be absorbed into the government of Kenya in 2028.
