Six Beach management Units in Kilifi County have received donations of equipment aimed at boosting their businesses and transforming the livelihood of the fishing communities. The BMUs from Mayungu, Watamu, Mida, Uyombo Roka and Wesa received equipment, deep freezers, Cooler Boxes, chairs, and bee hives through the Secure Coastal Communities and Seascapes Through Collaborative Stewardships Secure Project funded by COMRADE and COBEC organisations based in the Coast region. Fishing Communities, including fishmongers, formed groups and successfully presented proposals to the project, which delivered and handed over the equipment at the Mayungu fish landing site in Malindi Sub-County.
