Kilifi County government has threatened to move hundreds of unclaimed bodies from the Shakahola massacre preserved at the county’s hospital to Nairobi’s Kenyatta National Hospital. Two containers with over 429 bodies are yet to be collected at the Malindi sub-county hospital. Governor Mung’aro says the preservation is not only a burden to the county but has also rendered the area inhabitable owing to the stench from the containers
