The Kenya national chamber of commerce and industry is calling for a comprehensive review of fuel taxes and levies to reduce the cost burden on Kenyans and improve transparency. KNCCI, in response to the fuel price hike, is calling for targeted support for transport operators, smes, and export sectors which it says are most affected by rising fuel and logistics costs. KNCCI has further called for structural reforms which it says are unavoidable and has said the private sector is ready to partner with government to stabilize prices, protect jobs, and safeguard Kenya’s economic competitiveness.
