Martha Karua urges Kenyans to defend 2010 constitution as its promise faces threats

Karua, a former Minister of Justice and key figure in the struggle for constitutional reform, said the Constitution was meant to bring tangible change to ordinary citizens’ lives. She cited examples such as better healthcare access for mothers in Turkana, market support for farmers in Migori, and education with dignity for children in Kibera. However, she warned that governance failures, abductions, torture, economic hardships, and attacks on devolution now threaten that promise.
