Matatu fares remain high despite fuel tax cuts

Despite the government intervention that has led to a revision in fuel prices, public service vehicle operators maintain that they will effect a 25 per cent increase in fares. A spot check by Citizen TV established that operators traversing both intra-city and upcountry routes were already charging higher fares.
