Moussa Faki bids farewell as AU commission chair

Outgoing African Union Commission (AUC) chairperson Moussa Faki has expressed gratitude to member states for entrusting him with the commission’s leadership over two terms. Speaking at the 38th AU summit, attended by African leaders and UN Secretary-General António Guterres, he reflected on the commission’s progress and called for continued efforts toward the continent’s full sovereignty. Leaders at the summit reaffirmed their commitment to addressing Africa's pressing challenges, including economic struggles and political instability, to ensure African nations achieve lasting independence.
