Okoa Uchumi warns KSh 4.82tn budget could worsen cost of living crisis

Civil society groups under the Okoa Uchumi umbrella are warning that the KSh 4.82 trillion 2026/27 budget could worsen the cost of living amid rising debt and heavy domestic borrowing. The groups are urging Parliament to scale down spending and amend the Finance Bill, warning that they could move to court and mobilise Kenyans for peaceful protests if no action is taken.
