The dispute over ownership of 4,700 acres Olkiombo ranch within the Maasai Mara National Reserve has found itself in parliament, with the local community calling on the National Assembly Departmental Committee on Lands to intervene. In a petition filed before the committee, residents want MPs to protect the Olkiombo area from Narok Governor’s brother, Livingstone Kunini Ole Ntutu, who won a 26-year-old dispute with Narok County Government in March. Petitioners claim Governor Patrick Ntutu is conflicted and should be barred from handling any deliberations on the same.
