The United Opposition has cautioned President William Ruto against belittling them as unworthy competitors in the run-up to the 2027 General Election, following his remarks that the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga was his only formidable challenger. Opposition leaders told the President to prepare for a major political showdown in the upcoming November 27 by-elections, vowing to defeat both UDA and ODM candidates across the constituencies. The coalition has since reached a consensus agreement to field single joint candidates in each race a strategy aimed at eliminating internal competition and strengthening their bid against the Broad-Based Government.
