Pension assets rise 12% to KSh2.5 trillion, dominated by five major funds

The latest pension report has revealed a concerning trend of investment concentration in a few asset classes by pension funds. According to the pension industry report of 2025, the sector invested 92 percent of its assets in only four asset classes, including government securities, guaranteed funds, quoted equities, and immovable property. This is despite the sector reporting a 12 percent growth in assets under management in the period between December 2024 and June 2025.
