Residents of Lomaiywe in Mochongoi ward, Baringo south constituency, have staged a peaceful demonstration to protest what they describe as continued neglect by the national and local leaders despite improved security in the area.
The residents raised concerns over lack of electricity, saying absence of power has crippled a lot of activities in the area. They also criticized delays in constructing and opening of security roads funded through the Equalization fund, blaming political disputes between local leaders for stagnating development. The demonstrators warned they will continue protesting until issues on electricity, healthcare, roads and school reconstruction are addressed.
