JEFF: Race-walker Eric Shikuku, sprinters Grace Kidake and Sylvia Chesebe headlined impressive performances at the Athletics Kenya Masters Trials held at the Ulinzi Sports Complex on Saturday ahead of the 2026 World Masters Championships in Daegu, South Korea.
OLIVE: Former world masters gold medalist Shikuku cruised to victory in the 10-kilometre race walk, while Kidake and Chesebe produced commanding runs to win their respective 400-metre events. Iten-based Florence Chepsoi marked her masters athletics debut in style, claiming victory in the women’s 10,000 metres, with world champion Rosaline David, who hails from West Pokot, finishing second. A team of 20 athletes and six officials will now carry Kenya’s hopes at the World Masters Athletics Championships set for August 22 to September 3 in South Korea.
