SMART FARM:KALRO boosts cassava propagation with hydroponics

Kenya’s scientists are using a modern propagation technique for cassava that promises to multiply planting materials faster, fight disease, and boost food security. The Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization, KALRO, has adopted a technology known as Semi-Autotrophic Hydroponics, or SAH, which could be a game changer for smallholder farmers.
