United Opposition vows to back single candidate against Ruto in 2027

United Opposition leaders have vowed to remain together until 2027, promising to front a single presidential candidate to face President William Ruto in next year’s election. The leaders, who held separate events in Kitui, included Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, DP leader Justin Muturi, DAP-Kenya leader Eugene Wamalwa and Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna. They pledged to protect and defend the Constitution as they seek to strengthen their unity ahead of the 2027 General Election. Maryanne Nyambura reports.
