Utumishi Girls fire survivor reveals dispute behind dorm blaze

One of the four Utumishi Girls Academy students discharged from Kenyatta National Hospital in Nairobi on Thursday has revealed that suspects accused of setting the dormitory at Utumishi Girls High School ablaze had an ongoing dispute with teachers. Speaking in Nakuru after leaving hospital, the Grade 10 student recounted the harrowing events of that night. Meanwhile, the family of Faith Koskei, a parent who died in a road accident while rushing to check on her daughter at the school, now faces the heavy burden of raising more than three million shillings for her husband Emmanuel Koskei’s surgery and funeral expenses for Faith.
